The programme is designed as a one year top-up to the FdSc Computing, Networking & Software Development programme offered at Cornwall College or an equivalent FdSc. It offers development and in depth study in the field of evolving computing technologies and also gives you the opportunity to further your specialisation in either the field of networking or software development. The
preparation of study for vendor certifications alongside the academic qualification ensures you will meet the needs of industry.
You will study an individual 40-credit project module, together with a common core of 60 credits. These include E-Business for the Entrepreneur, Digital Forensics and Agile Methods. There are a further 20 credits of electives for you to choose, from either the Networking route, studying Advanced Networking, or the Software Development route, studying Advanced Object Oriented Programming. Programme content is informed by and supported by national and local industry.
Study will be through formal lectures, tutor led seminars, blended learning and self-directed research and study. There will be practical workshops in computer suites and in the Cisco Networking Lab.
