Body And Spa Therapy Diploma
If you love promoting the health and wellbeing of others this is the course for you and will be your first step into the spa industry. This course encourages practical learning you will spend a lot of time in our treatment rooms working on clients, learning as you go and perfecting your skills.
You will be learning non-medical treatments which improve the overall health of the body. You will learn the technical skills to enable you to work in the spa industry and how to work effectively with colleagues and clients. This course will support you in the promotion of selling products and services as well as maintaining health and wellbeing. You will develop skills in body massage, pre-blended aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage, tanning (spray and manual), hot stone massage, body wrap treatments and how to monitor and maintain spa equipment. These skills will give you the ability to work in a rapidly growing industry.
We have a working salon with a reception area for clients to wait for appointments and relax after treatments, they also have the opportunity to purchase products through therapist recommendations.
As this is a level 3 qualification by the end of your course you should feel confident to either progress onto another course within Cornwall college or head straight into the industry whether that is within a spa, salon, health clinic or being self-employed. This course will provide you with the necessary skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to progress onto other industry courses or straight into industry.
During your time with us at the college, we will also hope to take you into the industry so you can see and experience for yourself different career options.

What you will learn
This course will provide you with detailed knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the body, how to work with clients and colleagues, how to carry out effective consultations and how to promote and sell products and services to clients.
It will also enable you to learn the theory and practical skills required to be able to practice body massage, pre-blended aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage, tanning (spray and manual), hot stone massage, body wrap treatments and how to monitor and maintain spa equipment.
Entry requirements
Two GCSEs at grade C or 4, including English and mathematics or equivalent qualifications.
Work experience
As part of your course you will be required to carry out Work Experience and/or an Industry Placement.
Assessment
You will be assessed through online assessments, practical assessments and written assignments.
Progression
Once you’ve finished Body And Spa Therapy Diploma you may choose to progress onto Diploma in Reflexology, Diploma in Aromatherapy or start you journey within industry or self-employment.
