Assistant Practitioners In Healthcare Diploma (Higher Apprenticeship)
The qualification is for individuals already working in a healthcare environment like nursing homes, clinical health care settings, hospital staff working in clinical areas, residential health care settings (that have a clinical aspect to the job role) or domiciliary settings (that have a clinical aspect to the job role).
You can train to an Assistant Practitioner level while continuing working in practice.

What you will learn
The programme duration is 24months to complete all elements including the external end point assessment requirement for the qualification.
The structure to achieve the Level 5 Diploma for Assistant Practitioners in Healthcare, learners must achieve 120 credits from a combination of mandatory units and optional units. The units covered are:
Understand safeguarding of children and young people
Promote professional development
Work in partnership in health and social care
The structure, organisation and function of the human body
Use and develop systems that promote communication
Champion equality, diversity and inclusion
Lead and manage infection prevention and control within the setting
Develop health and safety and risk management policies, procedures and practices in health and social care
Manage quality in health and social care
Undertake a research project within services for health and social care
Conduct and support others in the assessment of individual’s health and well being
Promote effective nutrition and fluid balance
The principles and philosophy of healthcare
Lifespan developments and healthcare needs
Understand the principles and application of Physiological measurements
Safeguarding and protection of vulnerable adults
Understand the principles, theories and concepts reacted to leading and developing a work team in a healthcare environment
Entry requirements
GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent, a Level 3 Diploma in health and social care or equivalent.
A care certificate is desirable but not essential.
Assessment
One internal exam and completion of End point assessment
Progression
Level 4 HE module for Nutrition and Health.
