A relaxed and inspirational painting workshop designed to help beginners to get started with painting, whilst also supporting more advanced painters to develop their skills and techniques.

All will improve with friendly individual tuition.

You will be required to provide your own materials for this workshop and a suggested materials list will be provided nearer the start date.

* This workshop will be free for students who will be 19+ as of 31.08.21 and have not attended the workshop before. If you have already attended this workshop and wish to repeat it a fee will apply.

Alice’s fashion designs have been seen on celebrities such as Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton and Jessie J, she also collaborates with some major manufacturers including Care Bears, My Little Pony and Hello Kitty.

“I knew I wanted to be a fashion designer and the course at Camborne covered lots of different disciplines, which was great as it gave me a wonderful overview of all the various paths open to me and I particularly remember enjoying life drawing. From there I was accepted by The University of Plymouth to study fashion design and on completion of my degree I then moved back to Cornwall and got a job at a high-end fashion boutique, which introduced me to the spectrum of fashion.

My goal was to have my designs on the catwalk at the Clothes Show, so I worked hard, researched a lot, got signed by a portfolio agency and was then contacted by the stylist who wanted me to be involved in the designs for the opening sequence to the show. From there I received work from the X-Factor, Got to Dance and worked with Vogue on a Range Rover launch. "

If you are interested in a career in photography and have your sights set on a future in the creative industries then look no further as this is the course for you. The course is constructed with practical projects and hands on learning – you’ll be spending a lot of taking photographs in and out of college. This course is delivered at both Cornwall College Camborne and Cornwall College St Austell. You will work on projects that are written to allow you to develop skills in both digital and analogue processes across a range of photographic applications. By the end of the course you will have a diverse portfolio to take to employers, universities or to show clients. At the end of each year of study you will be given the chance to choose your own specialism and create a completely individual product based on the strengths and skills you have developed. What will you create? The choice is yours! You will go on trips to various locations and visit photographer’s studios. These are a great opportunity to meet and question current industry professionals. You will also have the opportunity to go on the annual London trip that includes accommodation at a 3* hotel, seeing the work of professional photographers exhibited at National Portrait Gallery and Photographers Gallery, Visiting V&A museum being in a live TV studio audience, meeting and working with professional photographers, 3D IMAX screening, a West End show, a ride on the London Eye, Street Photography in the capital and so much more. The FdA Art & Design Practice is a radical and innovative interdisciplinary art degree programme. It reflects the direction the creative industries are taking by encouraging the blurring of boundaries between traditional art and design disciplines. The freedom of the flexible curriculum allows you to nurture your creative potential and direct your study to achieve the skills and unique personal portfolio you need to enter the workplace. You will have dedicated studio workspace and access to a wide range of purpose-built workshops and digital facilities. These include textiles, photography, print making, fine art, ceramics, graphic design, and multimedia with full technical support. A key feature of the art degree programme is its engagement with a variety of employers through live briefs and input into the course by industry specialists. Through ongoing professional development, the programme will build your confidence as you develop and evaluate an individual programme of study. You will learn to balance time and resources and identify opportunities which will be important skills for your chosen career. Work-based learning is embedded throughout, through the Sustainable Practice and Creative Enterprise initiative which acts as a forum to bring together students and creative industry representatives to work on live projects. This practice based course is for those wishing to learn basic photo editing techniques to enhance their photography. The principles learnt on this course can be applied to any editing software as necessary. This course teaches a basic understanding of Photoshop features such as managing selections and layers as well as modifying images and even creating your own cards or posters. Please bring a USB memory stick and note pad and pen with you.
