On this course you will be able to experiment with painting, wet-felting, needle-felting, mixed media, eco-dyeing, sketching with charcoal and pastels, and so much more!

The tutor will give you guidance to achieve your goals and you can adapt them to make your own creations.

Your Road to Wellbeing courses are relaxed and informal, enabling you to improve your wellbeing and mental health whilst building your self-confidence and a great way to make friends.

Our courses run one day per week, over 10 to 13 weeks per term. If you miss the start of the course don’t worry, you can join the courses at any time.

This Intermediate evening course is suitable for those who have had some previous experience of pottery. This course offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of processes inc. hand building, throwing, surface decoration and glaze application, while gaining or advancing your skills. Through your personal projects there will be opportunities to develop existing skills and experience while learning new skills and techniques in a creative, relaxed atmosphere. Materials are provided but please bring an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes and your footwear should not be open toed. These courses are now full. But if you would like to be added to the waiting list please email your full name, DOB and contact details to us at adult.community.learning@cornwall.ac.uk and we will contact you if any places become available or if we are able to add any new dates. Art Textiles (Evening)

A friendly and relaxed course which allows you to explore a variety of textile processes and creative ideas. We will be using a range of artists and examples of their artwork as a starting point for conversation, inspiration and idea development. It would be helpful if you had a portable sewing machine that you can bring with you to some sessions, preferably one that does free machine embroidery. Some materials will be provide for this course. A list will be provided at the start/during the course of any other materials that you may need to bring with you. This is a FREE* course - so book now so you don't miss out! * There will be a materials fee of £20.00 payable when booking. * This course will be free for students who will be 19+ as of 31.08.21 and have not attended the course before. If you have already attended this course and wish to repeat it a fee will apply. This course runs on a Thursday evening from 6.30pm to 8.30pm for 10 weeks. Learn To Use Your Sewing Machine – Sewing Workshop

No Qualification • Part-time • Cornwall College St Austell, Offsite


Learn to use your sewing machine - bring along any make or model of sewing machine in good working order and your manual. By the end of the workshop you should feel confident setting up and using your machine. As well as threading, you will learn how to sew seams, neaten edges and sew hems. You will make and complete at least one simple product during the day. For this workshop, as well your own sewing machine (in good working order) and manual, you will need your own sewing kit including scissors, pins, needles, tape measure, tailors chalk or other fabric marker. You will also need to bring your own fabric, thread etc and you will be informed of the amounts nearer the start date. This is a FREE* workshop - so book now so you don't miss out! *This workshop will be free for students who will be 19+ as of 31.08.21 and have not attended the workshop before. If you have already attended this workshop and wish to repeat it a fee will apply. This workshop runs on a Saturday from 9.30am to 4.00pm for 1 day.
