The Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Beauty & Spa Therapy aims to provide you with a range of specialist practical skills and technical knowledge, which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the Beauty & Spa Therapy industry.
The course is ideal for anyone who wishes to cover all of the advanced technical skills and knowledge needed to work as a senior/spa therapist or to progress onto a Level 4 qualification.

You will learn in our well-equipped and resourced salons, and our links to industry support this course. We offer trips to spas and in-house complimentary training with our Eve Taylor product range, as well as offering an extensive programme of short courses that will enhance your skills and ability.

What you will learn

This qualification covers a very wide range of practical skills and knowledge required for working in the beauty and spa therapy industry.

The compulsory areas, are:

• Promote and sell products and services to clients
• Provide body massage
• Provide facial electrotherapy treatments
• Provide body electrotherapy treatments
• Anatomy and Physiology
• Provide dry spa treatments
• Provide stone therapy treatments

The college day will consist of both theory and practical studies. There is also a substantial amount of revision and independent research required for this course for which we would advise 4-6 hours per week study at home.
We work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training by providing demonstrations and talks on the industry and where possible, work placements will also be provided by the employers.

Entry requirements

A Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy, or equivalent, is required

Work experience

You are expected to find an external work placement while on the course. This will help you gain valuable work experience to help you develop a career in this exciting industry. However, we have workplace coordinators that can help you or you may be able to gain work experience in our own commercial Salons open to the public.

Assessment

Externally set theory exam and practical synoptic exam

Progression

Possible progression routes: Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology, Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy, Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage, Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy Techniques or progress to HE/degree level courses.
