NCFE L2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (Evening Course)

If you wish to become a fully qualified counsellor, develop helping skills or if you are simply interested in the field of counselling then the NCFE Counselling Studies at Level 2 is your starting point qualification.
You can study with us at our Camborne Campus on a 15 week day course or a 20 week evening course. The day course will be held on Wednesdays 9.30am to 3.30pm and the evening course will held on Mondays from 5.00pm to 8.30pm. The cost is £510 for those who are self-funding however fees are waived for low income applications. We have two intakes in September and February/March, and all students who successfully complete their courses, from both intakes, will be able to progress to further counselling courses in the following September.
The course will introduce you to counselling theory, we will focus on the Person-Centred paradigm as this is the counselling approach which underpins all our counselling training at Cornwall College. You will get the chance to practice counselling skills with your peers and receive feedback from tutor observations. You will also learn about the professional boundaries and ethical standards that counsellors adhere to and the wide ranging opportunities that a career in counselling can offer.
Please note, that there is no automatic progression route between our courses. Each qualification requires a rigorous assessment process including an interview, and due to limited places, you may be placed on a waiting list or may not be successful on your first application.

Assessing Vocational Achievement City & Guilds Certificate
Level 3 • Part-time • Cornwall College Camborne
This course is suitable for practitioners who need to be qualified to use all methods of assessment - i.e. those who will be carrying out the role of an assessor in a work environment and vocationally related situation (i.e. classroom/workshop/simulated environments).
You can expect to work closely with at least two learners, through components of their qualification. You will meet with your Course Tutor/Assessor regularly and build a portfolio of evidence. You will also be required to work/liaise with other assessors and internal quality assurance staff at your Assessment Centre.
This course will include a 2 day induction plus up to 5 workshop sessions.
