The purpose of this course is to discover just what it is that you want to write about and then find your own voice in which to write. We start with the assumption that as human beings we naturally have an urge to create and communicate. We will be reading and discussing short stories and life writing extracts, and through a series of exercises and assignments building up our own writing skills. Your writing can become an exciting journey of self-discovery. Enjoy the challenges of experimenting with a variety of ideas and styles. Leading The Internal Quality Assurance Of Assessment Processes And Practice City & Guilds Certificate

This course is suitable for you if you are a practitioner who Leads the Internal Quality Assurance Process, within an Assessment Centre/Organisation; and have a responsibility for managing the quality of the assessment process, practice and the performance of Assessors. They may also develop systems and lead on visits from outside agencies such as Awarding Organisations. A one day induction to the course will cover the background knowledge and understanding aspects of the Award and the role as the Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) you will be required to carry out. Within the Assessment Centre, you will Lead the QA process and allocate work, within your own area of responsibility. As an IQA you will also be required to work closely with at least two assessors, each with a minimum of two candidates of their own, through components of a qualification. In your role as Lead IQA, you will also work with and co-ordinate with others from External Agencies i.e. Awarding Organisations, as well as meeting with your Course Tutor/Assessor regularly and build a portfolio of evidence.

Counselling Skills NCFE Certificate

If you wish to become a fully qualified counsellor, develop helping skills or if you are simply interested in the field of counselling then the NCFE Counselling Studies at Level 2 is your starting point qualification. You can study with us at our Camborne Campus on a 20 week day course or a 25 week evening course. Both courses are held on Wednesdays 9.30am to 3.30pm and 5.00pm to 8.00pm. The cost is £510 for those who are self-funding however fees are waived for low income applications. We have two intakes in September and March, and all students who successfully complete their courses, from both intakes, will be able to progress to further counselling courses in the following September. The course will introduce you to counselling theory, we will focus on the Person-Centred paradigm as this is the counselling approach which underpins all our counselling training at Cornwall College. You will get the chance to practice counselling skills with your peers and receive feedback from tutor observations. You will also learn about the professional boundaries and ethical standards that counsellors adhere to and the wide ranging opportunities that a career in counselling can offer.
