Becoming an overseas resort representative, part of a cabin crew, working on a cruise ship, or in a travel agency couldn’t be easier with our industry focused courses. We work closely with travel and tourism organisations to ensure you have the relevant skills needed by employers. We also have a cabin crew training replica, tourist information point and reception for you to practice the skills you need. Our students also experience working on a BAC 1-11 aircraft at the Cornwall Heritage Aviation Centre.

Swissport (airport ground handling services) also endorses our cabin crew qualification.
While completing this course, you’ll cover units such as: Worldwide travel and tourism destinations, the cruise industry, retail travel agency and holiday park hosts. You will also achieve professional industry qualifications such as England’s Coast Ambassador and Sustainable Tourism, plus a separate qualification in Overseas Resort Representatives to gain overseas employment.
Students take part in high profile events, like the Tall Ships Regatta, Falmouth Oyster Festival and the Padstow Christmas Festival. Students also have the opportunity to travel on a residential study visit to destinations such as Barcelona, Paris, Disneyland and London. Other visits include Newquay Airport, the Eden Project, Heartlands, Flambards, St Ives, Pendennis Castle, St Michaels Mount, Lanhydrock, and Land’s End. Plus there is the opportunity to go on board a cruise ship visiting Falmouth and to also take part in a local beach clean.
Students have the opportunity to progress onto the Level 3 qualification and then into a variety of careers such as cabin crew (for British Airways, Ryanair, Easyjet and TUI), hotel receptionists, reservation agents (for Aspects Holidays), customer host (for Great Western Railways), Newquay Airport, overseas representatives in Lapland, the Mediterranean, Caribbean and ski resorts, tour operators, travel consultants (for Newell’s Travel), cruise ships (such as Princess Cruises and Fred Olsen), the National Trust, Center Parcs, Butlins and even the London Underground!
We also offer a Travel & Tourism Diploma level 2, which is ideal should your GCSE results not be what you expected.

You are interested in a career in the travel and tourism sector or are looking for a stepping stone to further study in this field.
Four GCSEs at grade 4, ideally including English and mathematics.
During this two-year course you will study a range of units giving you key industry skills in: worldwide travel and tourism destinations, tour guiding, the cruise industry, holiday park and ski chalet hosting, travel agency skills in package holidays and independent tours and event management. You will also be able to take part in our highly successful Cabin Crew and Overseas Resort Representative qualifications, with a proven track record of employment abroad with tour operators and as airline cabin crew.
Continual assessment throughout your course including; role plays, practical work, written assessments, group work and direct observation.
Working at industry events and going on trips, and also taking part in practical assessments including guiding groups and airport duties.
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism for your second year of study.
You can then progress onto university study such as our FdA Event Management, or into employment.

Michelle has been working in the travel industry for over 36 years. Starting as a junior sales clerk, Michelle worked her way up to be branch manager of a prominent high street travel agency. She has also been a cruise co-ordinator and a tour guide in Egypt.
