The hospitality and tourism industry is one of Cornwall’s major economic drivers and also one of its largest employers. The sector in the UK employs 7% of the working population (or 1 in every 14 jobs) with a projected additional demand for 660,000 recruits by the year 2020.
If you are currently working in or have a passion for the industry and wish to develop your management skills, or find employment when you graduate, then this is the programme for you.
This programme is characterised by a balance of knowledge: specific skills honed in our extensive professional practical areas and generic skills delivered through lectures, visits and outside speakers.
This programme will make use of the world-class facilities we have at our Camborne and St Austell campuses and at the Eden project. The programme will take advantage of all these facilities and give you the opportunity to experience working within those environments.
The Faculty for the Cultural and Visitor Economy offers modern learning facilities and high quality teaching; in both academic and vocational subjects relating to the hospitality and tourism industry. It has recently undergone a £3.5m rebuild and now has facilities that rival any organisation in the South West.
