For 2017 start

Cornwall College Worcester LEVEL: 5 Social Care & Health

This foundation degree has been designed by the Centre for Housing and Support (CHS) in Worcester for those who work for housing organisations or, in exceptional circumstances, those who are seeking to work in the sector.
It aims to provide learning about key aspects of housing, including: housing policy, law, finance, the operation of housing markets, and housing management. It also includes more generic management modules, such as the study of how organisations behave and how to develop strategies. There will also be the opportunity to carry out a piece of small scale work-related research and to acquire the skills necessary to do it successfully. Uniquely, there is also the opportunity to study housing in an international context.

Given the work-based nature of the programme, you will be able to acquire the skills needed to develop your personal and professional skills and also to reflect on your role as a professional.
Study is by part-time blended learning, which means attending two-day study blocks that cover all of the modules at CHS in Worcester: five in Years 1 and 2 and three in Year 3. You will also study independently using CHS’s online resources. At all times you will be supported by experienced tutors.
This degree is strongly linked to housing’s professional body, the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) and the CIH’s Level 4 Certificate is embedded in the first year. CHS has also applied for the whole degree to be accredited by the CIH for full CIH membership.

Possible careers available with this qualification:
Management roles in:
– Policy
– Strategy
