FdA Contemporary Storytelling & Performance

For 2017 start

Cornwall College Eden Project LEVEL: 5 Music & Performing Arts

This programme aims to develop thinking, engaged actors and storytellers who have an understanding of a range of work contexts. The FdA Contemporary Storytelling & Performance is a unique programme which offers students an innovative and inspirational environment in which to perform, explore and create. Delivered in partnership with the Eden Project, this programme is a skills-based course that provides the knowledge and practical expertise needed for success in the storytelling and performing arts industry. With the incorporation of Eden’s ethos of sustainability and ethical tourism, this programme focuses on developing performance and storytelling skills within a world-class visitor attraction. Eden provides an exciting platform and presents a wealth of opportunity to create, interpret and perform a diverse range of material in response to its environment and connections with the wider creative arts sector.
At the core is the skills training in storytelling, performance, movement, character development, voice, research, analysis, reflection and evaluation which, under the guidance of tutors and industry professionals, will enable students to develop as storytellers and performers within a rigorous academic framework. In addition, the programme will also enable you to develop the necessary skills and experience to progress to Level 6 study or to enter directly into freelance work as a storyteller and performer.
Based at the Eden Project, you will establish links with creative partners across Cornwall and the South West, developing storytelling and performance work in response to a range of contexts, including Eden’s own inspirational natural landscape.
