Nail bars are becoming a commonplace on the high street, and many opportunities exist for those wanting to start a career in this fast growing industry. Our Level 2 Nail Services Diploma course will offer you the skills required to gain employment as a Nail Technician.
This course is set at a pace which allows you to develop as an individual and manage your own learning with assistance from our experienced, dedicated, and highly qualified staff who will give you full support as you develop your skills and abilities. Over the duration of this course you will receive training in manicure, pedicure, nail art, and artificial nail enhancements.

This course is ideal for students new to the beauty industry, who want to become a Nail Technician in a nail bar or a beauty salon.
A minimum of three GCSEs at grades 4-9 in English and mathematics.
We recognise that applicants without these qualifications can often offer a high level of competence as well as life experience and we will therefore consider all applications on their merits alongside their qualifications.

Students on this course will get to develop their work based skills; recognising the importance of professional practice. You will learn how to:
● Provide manicure services
● Provide pedicure services
● Carry out nail services
● Apply and maintain nail enhancements to create a natural finish
● Undertake salon reception duties
● Develop and maintain effectiveness at work
● Promote additional services or products to customers
● Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety
To be assessed using a variety of methods including observation of practical work, written assignments, case studies and online test papers.
Theory is delivered alongside each unit and in house exams are set, however emphasis is placed on practical learning.
Practical skills are initially developed on hand trainers but once a level of competence is reached you will be working on clients.
Learning from our industry trained tutors as they demonstrate practical techniques as well as best practice, so that you can be sure that you are equipped with the skills and know-how to perform these services independently.
Following completion of this course you could use your newly gained qualification to seek employment in industry.
However, it is always an advantage to offer as many different services as possible to your clients, so once you have achieved your Level 2, we would recommend that you enhance your knowledge base and develop your skills by progressing on to the Nail Services Level 3 course at Cornwall College.
