Beauty therapists specialise in beauty treatments for the face and body, which can range from massages and facials to hair removal and nail treatments. Beauty therapists play a very important role in helping their clients feel less stressed and more confident about themselves, while also helping them make the most of their physical appearance.
To ensure you gain all the skills needed for a career as a beauty therapist, you will need to start your studies at Level 2. On successful completion you can go into employment or continue your studies at Level 3.

You would like to progress your career skills in beauty therapy as a beauty therapist in a clinic, hydro spa, spa, department store or cruise liner. Spa Therapy consists of non-medical treatments. If you are involved in massage, stone therapy, hydrotherapy, body wrapping and floatation treatments and you would like a qualification to demonstrate your specialist skills, or you have worked in a salon, spa or similar role for some time and have gained your level 2 in Beauty Therapy /Nail Services qualification then this course may be for you.
GCSE English and maths at grade 4.
Skills and techniques used by senior beauty therapists. Areas of study may include head and body massage treatments, tanning, microdermabrasion, electro-therapy, epilation, permanent lashes, client care, promotion and retail.
To be continually assessed throughout your course through practical assignments and examinations. There will also be a practical and theoretical exam.
