This course is for those wanting to progress onto an Access to Higher Education course but would like to improve their study skills and confidence before starting.
This course is also suitable for anyone who is hoping to return to education but who might not be sure which route to take.

There are no formal entry requirements.
All applicants will be invited for an interview and will complete an online assessment of their English and Maths skills to determine if the course is the most suitable route.
The course costs £200. You may be eligible to get the course fee paid if:
- You are aged between 19-23 and you do not have a full level 2 qualification.
- You are over 19, unemployed, looking for work and in receipt of a state benefit.

The course is assessed in different ways including essays, portfolios and presentations. We give you lots of help and support to ensure you are comfortable with and know how to perform well in all kinds of assessment.
This course will give you the confidence to progress in education.
You will gain the core study skills needed to succeed in future higher level courses and it will also help you to explore future career options and identify suitable education routes.
Support will be given to progress into work or onto further and higher level training in a wide range of subjects.
