Site Carpentry Advanced Apprenticeship

Cornwall College Camborne | St Austell | Saltash LEVEL: 3 Construction

Site carpentry focuses on woodwork essential to a construction site and includes fitting flooring, roofing frame installation, partition wall construction and stair building to name but a few. There is also timber frame erection, window fitting and some on-site modifications needed for structures.

We offer a range of full-time site carpentry and bench joinery qualifications to get you started on a career in wood trades in construction (see previous pages). However, if you want to earn while you learn as an apprentice, we also offer site carpentry at Level 2 and 3. You just need an employer to take you on so you can gain essential work experience while studying at college one day per week to gain your qualification.

This Level 3 programme allows you to further your career by gaining an advanced apprenticeship qualification and work and earn at technician level.

PROFILE

Steve Kendall Programme Manager Carpentry

On leaving school Steve was offered an apprenticeship with a local builder, after completing the apprenticeship he became self-employed and worked as a carpenter and joiner all over Cornwall until a teaching opportunity presented itself at Cornwall College.
“I get a buzz from seeing the students we’ve trained be successful in the construction industry in both the local area and worldwide. Just seeing apprentices we’ve trained in the past bring their own apprentices to us to train, makes doing what we do very worthwhile.”
