This course will take your basic knowledge and skills in Painting and Decorating and build on them.

Anyone who has studied to Level 2 and wishes to expand their knowledge and skills in Painting and Decorating, or wishes to enter the industry. This Diploma can be used as part of an apprenticeship in conjunction with the relevant Level 3 NVQ, as a progression from a Level 2 apprenticeship.
You’ll be expected to have previously attained the Level 2 Diploma, or be able to demonstrate significant industrial experience at this level.
: As well as a wide variety of complex skills including - Applying hangings to walls and ceilings, Producing specialist finishes for painted decorative work, Producing specialist architectural finishes for decorative work, Applying waterborne paint systems using airless equipment and Applying waterborne paint systems using High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) spray equipment, you will also learn the principles of organising, planning and pricing work.
You can expect to spend one day per week at college in a mixture of practical and theory lessons, and have your skills and knowledge assessed by a mixture of written multiple choice papers, on line tests and practical assessments.
You’ll love the challenge of learning and applying these complex techniques, and the pride in the finishes you can produce.
You could now progress in industry with the Level 3 NVQ, or if you’ve already completed this as part of an apprenticeship you may want to further this with an advanced apprenticeship in Construction.
