A-level English Literature

Cornwall College St Austell LEVEL: 3 A-levels

“Books are the carriers of civilization. Without books, history is silent, literature dumb, science crippled, thought and speculation at a standstill.” Barbara W. Tuchman, (Popular American historian and author, 1912-1989).

“Frederick Douglass taught that literacy is the path from slavery to freedom. There are many kinds of slavery and many kinds of freedom. But reading is still the path.” Carl Sagan, (Astronomer, Astrophysicist, Cosmologist, Astro-Biologist, Space Scientist and Planetary Scientist, 1934-1996).

If these quotations inspire you, if you are interested in the spoken and written word; reading and exploring literary texts that can change, offend, thrill, charm and educate, this A-level is for you.
