What will the apprentice be doing?

  • General apprentice duties
  • Provide support or assistance to one or more skilled electricians
  • General work assisting the electrician including site preparation and clearance and maintaining general site tidiness as directed.
  • Maintain accurate worksheets and records/documentation associated with your work.
  • Ensure compliance to agreed codes, legislation and procedures including health and safety.
  • Meet targets and contribute to those of the team as a whole.
  • Contribute towards the smooth running of the team.
  • Adhere to all organisational procedures, including hygiene, respect for other team members and keep good time keeping and flexibility.
  • You will be responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all the targets as agreed with your supervisor
  • You will be expected to contribute to the smooth running of the organisation generally.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • You will be required to achieve the Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification, (Installation) or (Maintenance)
  • Apprentices without level 2 English and mathematics will need to achieve this level prior to completion of their apprenticeship
  • This programme is delivered through a combination of work based assessment and day release to Camborne college for the technical elements.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship there is an opportunity to progress as a full-time employee or continue your development.
