Interdisciplinary Artists’ Residencies

The Cornwall College artist residency programme has been running since 2014, set up with a view to promoting a creative exchange between practising artists at varying stages of their career and students in the Arts and Media department, in particularly on the interdisciplinary FdA/BA (Hons) Art & Design Practice Course.

It is intended to be mutually beneficial: supporting the artist by giving them space and the use of specialist facilities to develop work, and stimulating students through contact with the artist and their ideas and ways of working.

We are offering the opportunity for artists interested in developing work across a range of disciplines to benefit from the facilities we have on offer at Cornwall College Camborne. The residences would suit artists who are able to progress their work independently and who are interested in the opportunities offered through engagement with this particular, educational, setting.

The residencies will be for 8 weeks: from the 11th March 2019 through to the beginning of May 2019.

The resident artists will have allocated studio space and the use of a range of facilities, including the print studio, ceramics studio, textile and 3D workshop.  The artists will give a talk on their work at the beginning and end of the residency, and be asked to offer four hours of tutorials with BA(Hons) and FdA Contemporary Creative Practice students per week. The residency will culminate in an exhibition of the work produced.

The deadline for applications by Friday 22nd February, 2019. Interviews will be held on Wednesday, 1st March, 2019.
