Horse Care Work-based City & Guilds Diploma

Bicton College Bicton LEVEL: 2 Equine

This course provides you with basic training in the care and management of horses and will provide with the skills and knowledge you need to gain employment in the equine industry. Bicton College has a wide range of equine facilities for you to learn in including: a cross-country schooling field, stabling for 46 horses, indoor and outdoor arenas, a solarium, horse walker and many more.

Ideal if:

You are well motivated and want a professional career working with horses with emphasis on the practical abilities.

You’ll need:

Four GCSEs at grade D or 3, including English and maths.

You’ll learn:

About the theory of horse care as well as practical training. You will study through a mixture of lectures and practical lessons.

Expect:

To do yard duties on a regular basis which will include some weekends.

You’ll love:

Daily riding lessons and the opportunity to ride in student competitions.
