The town of Okehampton is situated on the northern edge of Dartmoor in West Devon. It lies at the confluence of the East and West Okement Rivers from which is takes its name.
Okehampton has been described as the walking centre of Dartmoor. It is also popular with cyclists and walkers taking the Granite Way, a beautiful trail from Okehampton to Lydford.
The Council is also responsible for woodland, meadows, wildflower areas, a newly created sensory garden and a cemetery.
The successful candidate would work with the Council’s Parks Team, day to day duties would include:-
- Grounds maintenance including lawns, hedges, shrubs and plants
- Clearing and tending grounds, land and ponds
- Communicating with members of the public
- Utilising the areas
