Trainee Florist, The Flower Press Shop

Tasks to be carried out:

• In the shop:  Conditioning new flowers and assisting with customer service and arranging, maintaining and learning about our houseplants, merchandising and product placement, handling money and card machines plus software. Keeping the shop clean and tidy.  Working seasonally with Christmas, Valentines and Mothers’ Day.
• Helping with weddings in the shop/studio and on site
• Assisting with photography/social media.

Description of key skills & personal competencies required:

• Confidence to help customers and use own initiative especially during busy periods.  Good telephone manner.
• Modern and stylish in approach to flower arranging.
• Neat handwriting.
• Able to take instruction.  Basic knowledge of flowers/foliages and plants.
