Food suppliers in the region are being given the opportunity to showcase and sell their produce at Duchy College's Summer Food Festival.

The event, which will be held over the weekend of 23rd/24th June at the College's Stoke Climsland campus, is building on the success of last year which saw over 3,500 people enjoy the fantastic food on offer in blazing sunshine.

The festival is based in and around a grand marquee set in the glorious landscape of the East Cornwall countryside. Places are already being snapped up at £80 for a 2x2 metre pitch for the whole weekend so organisers recommend booking soon.

Those wanting to book or find out more about the event can email summerfestival@duchy.ac.uk or call 01579 372222.

Food Festival co-ordinator Bertie Hancock said, "This is a fabulous opportunity for local suppliers to show what they have to offer in the heart of the Cornish countryside. 2011 was our first year and what a success that was. This year we're aiming to make it even better and to do that we need the very best of regional food producers to attract locals and visitors alike."

The Festival will coincide with Duchy College's annual open days giving visitors of all ages the chance to take part in a wealth of free activities including tractor rides, archery, climbing and cheese making to name just a few.

Those with a thirst for knowledge can find out about the many courses on offer, whether full or part time, at the specialist landbased college.
