This apprenticeship is for people who want to become a fully qualified vehicle parts operative or parts advisor.
In 2009, 100% of our vehicle parts operation apprentices were offered permanent positions by their employers once they had completed their apprenticeship.

With a Level 3 Diploma, you are a fully qualified vehicle parts operative or parts advisor, and can advise and sell parts and accessories for motor vehicles, motorcycles, truck and coaches.
In the future, you may be interested in continuing your apprenticeship studies through Cornwall College Business and enrol in a team leading, people management, vehicle body and paint operations or vehicle maintenance and repair apprenticeship.

This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to train on the job and gain a nationally recognised advanced qualification in vehicle parts and operations.
You must enjoy working in the motor vehicle industry, and have good customer service and administrative skills.
This is a follow on course from the Level 2 Vehicle Parts and Operations, and supports those working as a junior vehicle parts operative.
To enrol in this apprenticeship, you need to be aged 16 and over, have a minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade C level and be employed in a suitable position.

You must have completed the Level 2 Vehicle Parts and Operations Apprenticeship or have the relevant experience.
You will attend lectures at the Camborne campus 1 day per week for 2 years, while remainder of the week is spent in the workplace.
During this apprenticeship, you will build on your Level 2 Diploma and have the opportunity to select units to suit your job role. You will learn to process payment transactions, resolve customer service issues and coordinate stocktaking. You may find yourself in a more senior role where you are responsible for planning, monitoring and adjusting staffing levels and schedules; or communicating with customers electronically.
The customer base will vary and may include large dealerships, small garages and members of the public. You will develop good customer service skills, while helping your company maximise sales through providing an excellent customer experience.
You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent at the tasks you do every day, while receiving support from experienced Cornwall College tutors.
