This apprenticeship covers a variety of Microsoft vendor units, and is well suited to those working in a technical job role in any industry e.g. database administrators, IT product developer, IT trainer, network manager, systems analyst, IT project manager, technical support manager and messaging technologist.
An ICT Diploma will help you progress in your career, IT skills are always in demand and in the future you could work in a variety of positions e.g. business analyst, system support engineer, IT architecture and security or network manager.
You may be interested in studying further and enrol in an MCITP (Microsoft Certified System Administrator), which will enable you to demonstrate comprehensive skills in planning, deploying, supporting, maintaining and optimising IT infrastructures.
Alternatively, you may be interested in a full time technology course through Cornwall College e.g. FdSc Computer Networking or FdSC Information Technology and then progress onto a BSc (Hons) Computing.

This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to train on the job and gain a nationally recognised qualification in ICT (information and communication technologies). You must enjoy working in a technical environment and want a career in IT.
This is a follow on course from the Level 2 ICT Professional Apprenticeship and supports those working in a variety of positions e.g. database administrator, IT product developer, IT trainer, network manager, systems analyst, IT project manager, technical support manager and messaging technologist.
To enrol in this apprenticeship, you need to be aged 16 and over, have a minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade C and be employed in a technical IT position.

You will attend lectures for a total of 12 weeks, spread out over a minimum period of 1 year, at the St Austell campus.
This apprenticeship includes a number of Microsoft vendor units, which will give you accreditation towards the Server 2008: Server Administrator MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent at the tasks you do every day, while receiving support from experienced Cornwall College tutors.
