Try something new (click for larger version)

At Falmouth Marine School you will have plenty of opportunity to explore different activities that are not on your curriculum. There are a variety of clubs and discount offers available to all students.

Sports
Falmouth Marine School currently runs a Basketball club on Tuesdays, indoor in the winter and outdoor in the summer. More sports and clubs are available at the college including swimming, football and surfing.

If you are interested in competing within a particular sport or would like to develop your skills further, Cornwall College has a unique sports development programme and elite sports programme.

Elite sports teams include Football, Basketball, Hockey, Netball and Rugby and all play at a county level. The sports development programme caters more for the development of sports including Golf, Surfing, Badminton, Pool, Kitesurfing and much much more.

Watersports
Join the sailing club or kayak club to get a taste of a new sport or improve your existing skills. Take advantage of the concessionary windsurfing available at Stithians Lake, just a short drive from Falmouth.

You could also try your hand at surf lifesaving with the opportunity to become a qualified beach lifeguard.

Sailing
If you fancy getting out on the water the college runs a dinghy sailing club that caters for both beginners and experienced sailors alike. Students also get the chance to sail an original 22ft Cornish Lugger built by fellow students.

Photography and Journalism
If you're interested in improving your skills or just want to know how your camera works, Falmouth Marine School offers a photography tuition group once a week.

There are also opportunities for budding journalists to submit articles (reviews, art work, interviews or stories) to two student publications.

Student Union (CCSU)
The Cornwall College Student Union is there to give students a voice. They carry out a variety of activities including raising money for charity, improving campuses, supporting local and national campaigns, organising parties and securing funding for student facilities.

Every student is automatically a member of the Student Union and it's up to you how you get involved. You may choose to become a Class Rep and be the voice of your course, or play a more active role on the SU committee itself.
