Course Studied: Marine Environmental Management Foundation Degree
From: Somerset
I've always had an interest in the environment and when I saw the Falmouth Marine School course on the UCAS website it looked perfect, as it had a bit of everything and not just science based.
The course has not disappointed me. It's been really good and I've really enjoyed the small and friendly atmosphere of the College. Our group worked really well together and we had a lot of support from the tutors.
As Falmouth Marine School is part of Cornwall College everyone who passes their two year FdSc's degree gets a guaranteed a place on a degree at the University of Plymouth. I am going to do the final year on the Environmental Sciences BSc.
I have been very busy during my time at Falmouth. I've been the Chairperson of the Cornwall College Student's Union for Falmouth - representing all the Falmouth students. I am a student ambassador which means helping out (and getting paid) at various College events such as Advice Sessions. I'm also on the student Council and have been elected to the Board of Governors. Oh, I've also assisted with Sea Squirts which is a marine science after school club held at the College -which is great fun!
