Students receive a Christmas bonus
Students studying Marine Biology and Ecology at Falmouth Marine School were awarded for academic achievement before returning home for the Christmas holidays.
Jessica Grove, 18 from Cheltenham and Jennifer Austin, 19 from Hertfordshire received a letter of commendation and a £25 gift voucher from the Head of College, David Stedman, for their academic endeavour.
The students were nominated by their tutor Craig Baldwin who commented: “This is in recognition of the consistency both students have put into their coursework, achieving distinctions, the presentation of their work, and timely submission, together with their punctuality, attendance and level of contribution in class.”
Today is the last day of lectures with the students returning home to spend Christmas with their families, Jessica commented: “It was a wonderful surprise and I’m really looking forward to showing the letter to my parents tomorrow and buying myself an extra Christmas present with the voucher.”
Jennifer said: “It’s great to receive recognition. I’m so glad I moved to Falmouth for the course, the staff are really supportive and know what they’re talking about.”
Head of College, David Stedman commented: “I believe it’s important to recognise academic endeavour, these students have constantly demonstrated this and have proven to be dedicated to their studies.”
