Fantastic Fun for all at Freshers' Fair
New students at Duchy College attended the annual "Freshers' Fair Day" on Thursday 24th September.
Students Services provided a variety of free events ranging from a life size electronic Rodeo Bull, Windsurf Stimulator, Climbing Tower Challenge, Archery Activites, BBQ, Nintendo Wii Competitions and information and discounts galore available from over twenty local businesses.
To round off the day the student union team arranged the ‘Big pool match & question time', between Duchy Chairperson, Miles Harris and Principal of Duchy College, Andrew Counsell. This gave students the opportunity to meet their new principal and fire questions in the Student Union about college life.
Organiser & Senior warden, Ciaran Ryder commented: "We like the first year (freshers) and returning students of Duchy College to have a fun informal day with the staff and be well informed of all their local facilities and services available in the local community."
Dave Linnell OBE, Principal of Cornwall College, of which Duchy College is part, said: "We offer Fresher's Fairs across the Cornwall College group for all our new students to help them settle into college life, as part of a member of Cornwall College Student Union. It is also good for our students to see that college is not all about learning but also having fun and enjoying themselves."
