What is clearing and how do I apply?
Clearing
is the name given to the final stage in the admissions cycle, and is
your chance to find a place on the right university course to start in
September 2009. Clearing can be very stressful, but it doesn't have to
be - use the links below to help you through the process.
How do I apply?
To be eligible for clearing, you will have already applied through UCAS but:
- You have not received any offers
- You have declined all your offers or not responded by the due date
- Your offers have not been confirmed because you haven't got the required grades
- You have declined a changed course, a changed date of entry and/or changed point of entry offer
- You applied for one course which has been declined/unsuccessful and you have paid the full £17 fee
- UCAS received your application after 30 June 2009, or after 11 June 2009 if you only applied for Route B art and design courses. If UCAS received your application after these dates, they will not have sent it to any universities and colleges.
Once you've received your results, start looking for a course which
interests you. Courses are listed on the UCAS website and in The
Independent. The Clearing Passport has now been replaced with an
electronic Clearing system. You will be able to select a Clearing
choice through UCAS Track
Once you've found the course that you'd like to study, contact the institution and talk to the admissions staff.
Duchy College courses will be updated regularly on UCAS Track and on this
website so check the list above for the latest update on places.
If you'd like to study with Duchy College, our programme managers and trained staff will be operating a dedicated Clearing Hotline over the A-level results period.
Call 0845 22 32 567 between the times below or email uni@duchy.ac.uk with your clearing number and we'll take it from there.
If you haven't applied through UCAS, you can still apply direct to the College - contact HE Admissions on 01579 372327 and we can help you through the process.
