Want to make better use of your garden?

DUCHY College Rosewarne will be offering a number of new gardening based short courses starting this month and throughout the summer, to give people the perfect opportunity to learn how to make better use of their garden.

Whether you want to grow your own, learn how to be more sustainable or more creative in the garden these short courses could be just for you. Designed to fit around work and family commitments, classes take place every Friday for four weeks.

 

The first four week course – Grow Your Own Vegetables and Soft Fruit – commences on Friday 20th April and covers principles of growing, harvesting and pest and disease management relevant for a range of crops including brassicas and root crops, potatoes, onions, soft fruits and salads. 

 

The second course – Organic Gardening for Better Plants, Crops and Wildlife – starts on Friday 18th May and focuses on soil management, crop rotation and composting, maintaining wildlife habitats and plant health. 

 

The final course – Garden Design from Scratch – starts on Friday 22nd June and focuses on the principles of design and landscape planning.
