Open Event at Duchy College Stoke Climsland

Duchy College will be throwing open its doors (November 19th) to give prospective students of all ages the chance to explore the College and its facilities and get the advice they need for their future career.

The event will run from 10am until 12pm on Saturday 19th November at both Rosewarne (Camborne) and Stoke Climsland (Callington) campuses. Those who attend will be able to get a feel for student life when they meet staff and students, visit departments and gather information from tutors on the range of courses and specialist facilities available at the College.

The College offers both full and part-time courses in Agriculture, Animal Care & Veterinary Nursing, Business, Childcare, Countryside & the Environment, Equine Studies, Floristry, Food, Forest School, Horticulture, Land-based Engineering, Outdoor Pursuits, Public Services, Sports and Skills for Life.

Helen Fuller, from Callington has recently completed an Advanced Apprenticeship in Animal Care at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland, and has now secured employment at the College as an Animal Care Technician said: "I really enjoyed my apprenticeship and I gained confidence by supervising groups, and the people I work with are really nice and supportive."

Duchy College also offers courses at University-level, from Foundation Degrees to Research Masters.

Duchy College student Jo Barron completed a Foundation Degree in Equine Sports Performance & Coaching and has returned to study the BSc top-up in Equitation Science. Jo said: "I am very excited about starting my course because it is the only one of its kind in the country and offers so many opportunities. I chose to continue my training and education at Duchy College because the resources are very good and there is such a friendly atmosphere. After my degree I had planned to become a lecturer but I've found that after meeting so many different people at Duchy College there are many other exciting possibilities."
