Ben Wins British Universities Northern Qualifier
Duchy College student, Ben Stow, wins British universities northern qualifier.
Duchy College's Tournament Golf programme bags another win with Ben Stow winning the northern qualifier of the BUCS Individual stroke play championships. Duchy College sent two students back from their winter training in Portugal, Ben Stow and Tyler Hogarty. These two students already showed early season promise with impressive results during the Iberian Golf Tour and did not disappoint with excellent performances in the contrasting weather conditions. Tyler finished joint 5th and Ben 1st with a solid -8 par. Both should go on to the finals held at West Lancashire Golf Club on the 12-14th April.
Ben said: "I am very grateful for this opportunity to give something back to the College. The training that this course has given me has made a real difference this year. I feel I am striking the ball the best I ever have and I am definitely looking forward to the season ahead."
Ben and Tyler are studying a Foundation Degree in Tournament Golf at Duchy College in Cornwall, which is approved by the University of Plymouth, with term two in Portugal. Currently the programme has 24 students and is still recruiting for a 2011 September start.
