How is the course studied at this venue? - Attendance at College is required for 3 days per week over 1-year starting September. Assessments are mostly assignment based, although there are also timed tests and at least one extended piece of coursework. Who is this course for?
This course is principally for adults of 19 or over who seek a career in a medically related discipline. It will prepare you to undertake a University Higher Education Programme in your chosen field.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements as suitability for the course will be determined upon interview. Please enquire if you are at all unsure as to your suitability.
What will I be doing on the course?
You will study core skills units including: IT, Study Skills, Maths or Advanced Maths and English. You will also be required to complete a range of units in Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology, Sociology and Medical Physics.
What can I do after the course?
This programme is recognised by almost all Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Schools. This programme is also suitable preparation for other related medical disciplines such as Podiatry, Speech and Language Therapy, Radiography and Dietetics (although the Access to Science route is recommended for this). Other career options through this route include Midwifery, Nursing, Prosthetics and Chiropractics. Offers are generally dependent on final grades.

If you are over 19 you will be expected to pay a course fee, however, you may be eligible for FREE tuition if you are in receipt of certain benefits or it is the first qualification you are undertaking.
