How is the course studied at this venue? - This law module is studied on one evening per week over 25 weeks at the Camborne campus. It can either form part of the ILEX Level 6 Higher Diploma or or be studied as a standalone Certificate. The usual qualification entry requirements would be sucessful completion of the ILEX Level 3 Diploma in Law and Practice. Diplomas are also issued to Fellows and Members of the Institute who take additional Level 6 subjects to increase the range of their specialist knowledge. Additional Information - Course fees are £300 per module, plus you will need to register with ILEX, purchase an appropriate text book, and pay the exam fee. | ||||||||

How is the course studied at this venue? - Client care and legal research are two half modules, and are a requirement for those people who have only recently completed their ILEX Diploma in Law and Practice. They are also mandatory for anyone wishing to gain ILEX membership through the graduate fast track route. Client Care will be offered as an evening option, spread over 12 weeks, with attendance at college from 6-8pm on a designated evening. Legal Research will be offered on a similar basis. Who is this course for?
This course enables students to achieve a recognised national qualification in an individual subject of law, legal practice or legal skill. The certificates can be useful if you want to change to working in a new area of the law, take a 'refresher' course, or get a stand-alone qualification in a distinct subject area. This is a higher education level course that leads to a qualification as a member of the institute of Legal Executives.
This course is one of the Level 6 modules offered, which ones are completed depends on the individual requirements of students.

Entry requirements
To enrol on this course, you would normally have completed the Level 3 Diploma in Law which provides a broad study of law. However, non-members of ILEX may take individual subjects from the Diploma. Diplomas are also issued to Fellows and Members of the Institute who take additional Level 6 subjects to increase the range of their specialist knowledge.
What will I be doing on the course?
During this course, students may choose from a variety of specialist subjects such as Civil Litigation, Criminal Litigation, Family Practice, Company & Partnership Practice, Conveyancing, Probate Practice, Commercial Law, Contract, Employment Law , Probate & Succession etc.
This course will take a minimum of 2 years to complete.
What can I do after the course?
Upon successful completion of all your ILEX Level 6 modules, you will achieve the Professional Higher Diploma in Law, and become a Member of the Institute of Legal Executives (M.Inst.L.EX). It is possible to continue with your studies once you are a fully qualified Legal Executive, and become a Solicitor.

There are some additional fees that are NOT included in the tuition fee, these include the ILEX manuals for each module, ILEX registration and exam fees.
