What will I be doing on the course?
The programme is designed to give you a broad overview of the field of renewable energy together with sufficient technical depth so that you can be functionally useful within the field. In Year 1 a number of modules provide underpinning knowledge that is then made use of in Year 2 modules, which focus on specific renewable energy technologies.
Throughout the programme a concerted attempt is made to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to examples relevant to the field.
An effort is made to enable you to adopt a problem solving approach that will enable you to tackle unfamiliar situations and examples in an effective and where appropriate, quantitative manner.
What can I do after the course?
You may seek employment in a range of public, private and voluntary sector organisations where renewable technology is a key issue. Most of our graduates go on to progress honours before entering employment but some have done so immediately upon graduating from the FdSc Renewable Energy Technologies. Specific job roles that our graduates have gone on to secure include energy manager, systems designer, sustainability consultant and development officer, others have gone into teaching or gained postgraduate qualifications.
