Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at 14-18 year olds who have some experience of babysitting or who are looking into starting a babysitting role.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but experience or an interest in babysitting is advantageous.

What will I be doing on the course?

You will study 3 units whilst on the course:

  • Caring for young children in a babysitting environment
  • Accident prevention and fire safety when babysitting
  • Craft activities with young children

You will achieve 6 credits and will need to complete all 3 units successfully to be awarded the qualification.  

What can I do after the course?

On completion you may decide to apply for a course in childcare and education, this will be dependent on your experience working with children and young people and prior qualifications.  

Additional Information

For the craft activities unit, you will be required to bring in additional art/craft materials depending on the activities that will be taking place.

You will also be required to carry out additional self study and reflect on your experiences if you are already in a babysitting role. 

* If you are aged 16 -19 courses are usually FREE, however, there are some exceptions e.g. Professional Accredited Courses, Microsoft Academy and some short courses. If you are over 19 you will be expected to pay a course fee, however, you may be eligible for FREE tuition if you are in receipt of certain benefits or it is the first qualification you are undertaking.
