How is the course studied at this venue? - Students are based at the Camborne campus, benefiting from new facilities and buildings, including an arts and media centre, a student bar, artificial turf pitch and new lecture theatres, making the learning experience one of the best in the county. This is a 1 year top-up course and you are entitled to the same grants and loans as students at any university and you are liable to the same fees. Most students will qualify for a Student Loan. Specialist financial advice on student loans, benefits, bursaries and other forms of support can be obtained from Student Services at Camborne. Who is this course for?
The course is for anyone over 18 who has a keen interest in environmental science, conservation or habitat management and who wishes to develop a strong base of scientific and transferable knowledge and skills in a degree studies context. It is designed for those who have completed a foundation degree or higher national diploma in a relevant subject. Many are available at Cornwall College.

What will I be doing on the course?
You will have the opportunity to carry out an individual research project in an area of environmental management, ecology, energy management, renewable energy, environmental protection or economic sustainability.
You will also benefit from the opportunity to gain fieldwork experience in Cornwall's unique environment, develop knowledge of environmental legislation and environmental management. You will find Cornwall College Camborne is located in an area of significant urban regeneration and is also in an area that provides many examples of important environmental management issues.
You will be able to take advantage of the College's well established links with individuals and organisations involved in environmental management and with creating a sustainable energy future.
What can I do after the course?
Upon successful completion of this course many of our graduates have progressed on to teacher training courses and now teach in local schools and colleges. The theoretical and practical training and experience you will gain during this year will provide you with excellent opportunities for employment in conservation, environmental management and other related areas. A number of successful students have gained employment with organisations such as the Environment Agency, South West Water, coast and countryside units, and the local council.
