A FdA or equivalent in a business related subject obtained within the last 5 years and an interview.

What will I be doing on the course?

This course covers:

  • Enterprise Portfolio
  • Consultancy Project
  • Responsible Enterprise
  • Human Resource Management & Employment Law
  • Performance Management
  • Strategic Marketing Management

You will have the opportunity to conduct live consultancy work with local and national companies, to apply theoretical skills to practical situations and to develop your employability skills through enterprise. Your existing skills will be developed through a series of lectures, seminars and problem-based learning opportunities.

The more theoretical aspects of business studies will be contextualised into real world business settings and you will be encouraged to nurture your problem-solving talents. You will be assessed through a combination of reports, presentations, articles, tests and simulations.

Students will be required to purchase a number of text books and materials.  There will also be other costs involved with the preparation of research.

What can I do after the course?

Relevant job opportunities exist in all sectors of industry, commerce and public service. Graduates from similar courses have entered careers in accounting, marketing, general management, local government, national health and teaching. Other areas include the police force, customs and excise, hotel management, hospitality management and management consultancy. There are also opportunities to take professional qualifications within the college in marketing, law, education, management and accountancy.
