End of year success for Complementary Health Therapies students
Students from Cornwall College Camborne have been celebrating their success of the last academic year with a special awards ceremony.
The foundation degree Complementary Health Therapies students attended their awards ceremony at The Plume of Feathers in Mitchell with staff from the College there to present awards to the well-deserving students.
The students were also treated to a guest speaker at the award ceremony; Steph Crosby who is the Spa Manager of Scarlet Spa & Hotel in Mawgan Porth. Steph spoke to the students about her journey to be a complementary therapist and what it is like to manage a spa of her own. She said: "Congratulations to all the students here today. I have great respect for anyone who advances their career and takes the first step to becoming a therapist. I wish you all the very best of luck in the future, wherever that may take you."
One of the student awards was for ‘Therapist of the Year' which was won by Jane Gradwell from Newquay, Jane said: "I was completely surprised by my award; I never imagined it would be awarded to me, I'm so happy and proud. I am my own worst critic, telling myself it's never good enough, but getting this award proves to me I am good enough."
Anne-Marie Young, Curriculum Area Manager for Health & Social Care at Camborne, said: "All of our students have worked very hard this year and we wanted to give them a really nice end-of-year awards ceremony to reward their determination and effort."
