Full-time students


1. Tuition fees loan

You will be eligible to apply for a loan from the Student Loans Company to cover the full cost of your tuition fees, which you won't pay back before or during your course. The money will be paid direct to the College on your behalf and you won't need to pay it back until after you have graduated and are earning over a specified amount.


2. Maintenance loan

This is to help towards the cost of living, and is paid direct to you. All students can take out a loan, but the amount you can borrow depends on your household income, where you live during your studies, and how much maintenance grant you receive (see maintenance grant information below).

3. Maintenance grant

The maintenance grant is a means-tested, non-repayable grant, which can help towards the costs of studying and living. The amount you receive is dependent on your household income.

4. College bursaries and scholarships

If you apply to take a full-time foundation degrees, bachelor’s degrees or top-up starting in 2013 at any of our campuses you may qualify for a college bursary or scholarship.

Core bursaries are cash awards payable in instalments direct to you - conditional upon you attending and fulfilling appropriately the requirements of your course. They can help with the cost of transport, childcare, accommodation, specialist equipment and general living expenses. There were approximately 150 Core Bursaries available from the College in 2012.

National Scholarship Programme Bursaries (NSPB) are awards which are divided between your tuition fees and you personally. To be eligible to apply for NSPBs you must have a household income of less than a specified amount.

Part-time students

If you are on a low income you may be able to get financial support to help towards the cost of your studies.

 
1. Fee grant which is paid direct to your university or college to help with your tuition fees.

 2. Course grant which is paid direct to you to help with your study costs (books, travel etc).
