Cornwall College St Austell student, Katie Reed, conquered her lack of confidence in studying and exams by returning to college and completing the Return to Learn programme. Since September she has now gone on to progress onto a Combined Studies Access course at the College, a route that can lead to Higher Education and University. Throughout her time at the College, despite having heavy home commitments which included caring for a disabled child and being a housewife, Katie’s work has proved to be excellent and through her involvement with fellow students her confidence has grown.
Katie said: “It was hard for me going back into education with my confidence so low. But I feel that coming to Cornwall College has really helped boost my confidence and now with the opportunity I have with an Access course I really think I have the chance to build on what I’ve started. I’ve had a fantastic time here.”
