Course Studied: NCTJ Journalism Diploma (fast-track)

From: Basingstoke

"If I'm honest, I picked Cornwall College so I could surf every day after lectures. However, as the course progressed, I discovered its strengths were more than just the location. I found tutors to be savvy mentors with heaps of useful anecdotes and hard news experience, while the thoroughness of the shorthand, law and writing modules gave me an edge over my peers when I took my first reporter's job. The facilities and equipment were also top notch. In all, I recall my brief stint there as one of the happiest and formative of my journalistic career, both in and out of the water."

Murray Wardrop is an award winning journalist who trained at Cornwall College in 2004. He is currently a general news reporter for The Daily Telegraph and has previously worked for The Sun, Solent News and Photo Agency, and as a crime correspondent for regional newspapers.
