STEP 1: Decide what course you want to study. You can get advice from either your careers advisor (if you are still at school) or you can book an appointment with an adult guidance officer or a member of our college careers staff.
STEP 2: Come along to one of our Open Days and find out more. This will also give you the opportunity to meet the tutors and discover more about the excellent facilities available at all our campus sites.
STEP 3: Apply online - Search for the course you want to study, decide which option is best for you and click the green APPLY button. Alternatively download a college application form (112k PDF).
If you are still at school you can wait to complete a 'Post 16' form which are normally handed out after the Christmas break, early in the Spring term.
STEP 4: If you are applying for a full-time course, you will be invited to attend an informal interview with a member of the appropriate department. They will assess your suitablity and answer any questions you have about the course.
For some courses you may also receive an invitation to attend an Introductory Day (late June/early July) where you can gain some practical experience in your chosen subject(s) and get to know the college a bit better.
STEP 5: Enrol on your course late August/early September. The enrolment dates vary from campus to campus and you will be told your enrolment date well in advance. It's also worth noting that if you are offered a conditional place (based upon gaining certain grades) and you then find your actual grades are lower than expected, or possibly higher, you should contact the College immediately to discuss your options. In some circumstances it may still be possible for you to study your chosen course, or it may be that another course would be more beneficial for you.
STEP 6: Start college and enjoy learning new and exciting subjects as well as meeting and making new friends in readiness for employment or higher level study here at the College or at University.
