CHILDCARE
The College is providing financial support to certain groups of students, who have young children, so that they can attend College and achieve qualifications and career goals. The College is offering support for childcare to the following groups of students:
- Unemployed people in receipt of Job Seekers' Allowance
- People in receipt of an income related state benefit e.g. Income Support, Housing benefit
- Students with a low family income (less than £20,000 per year)
- Unemployed dependants of the above

Care to Learn
There is a separate procedure for claiming childcare support if you are a parent aged 16-20 years of age. This will not affect your own or your family's benefits or allowances.
You do not have to be in receipt of benefits or a low income in order to have your childcare paid for. Please contact any of our student services departments for more details (numbers at bottom of page).
Créches
Many of our colleges have nurseries that provide high quality childcare enabling you to leave your child/children in good hands whilst you are in class, and in some instances, depend on your course and personal financial circumstances, we can even help you pay for the childcare costs.
Take-up for places is very competitive so it is advisable to contact the creche manager as soon as you know you will want a place/places.
- Cornwall College Camborne /Duchy College Rosewarne - There is a 50 place nursery on the Camborne Campus run by Flying Start. (Tel: 01209 611609)
- Duchy College Stoke Climsland - There is a 16 place nursery on the Stoke Climsland campus run by Flying Start. (Tel: 01579 371004)
- Falmouth Marine School - Although we currently do not have a Care & Learning créche at this campus, subsidy may be available for eligible students with childcare needs. This may be used with any local registered childcare provider. Please contact Student Advisers on (01209) 611611 Ext 3276
- Cornwall College Saltash - The Flying Start Day Nursery is on the College site. (Tel: 01752 840240)
- Cornwall College St Austell - There are childcare facilities located close to the campus site, however, places are very limited. Please contact Student Services on (01726) 226626 for more details.
