ST AUSTELL LEARNING CENTRES
The LC staff are information literacy specialists who can help you with finding and using information in any format. The LC staff can support you with:
- research skills
- effective internet searching
- using eBooks & eJournals
- using specific software ie
- Mind Genius for creating Mind Maps
- creating effective presentations with PowerPoint
- charts in Excel & Word, etc
- avoiding plagiarism and creating references
- academic writing
This is available 1-2-1, small groups or workshops at times to suit you and your learning.

The Learning Centres
There are 2 Learning Centres (LCs) at CC St Austell; both are on Level 4. Each LC caters for different subject areas giving access to a wide range of print and non-print resources as well as to computers. Wi-Fi access for your laptop is available from either LC. You may also use any of the other Cornwall College Learning Centres and can reserve and borrow their stock via the online catalogue; there are nine LCs in total across the seven sites.
Each LC has a variety of different zones with open plan areas (both study and computers) and individual silent study spaces and they are designed, equipped and staffed to help you to study in a way that suits you best.
Opening Hours (term-time)
Both LCs will be open from 8.30-4.30 most days in term-time. J478 is open from 8.30-9.00am on Tuesdays while the main LCs open at 9.00am.
Zone C is open until 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays in term-time
Holiday opening hours will be advertised in the LCs, on the Learning Services intranet, the Virtual Learning Centre and the online catalogue.
