Marc, Nicole and Sass, who organised 'The Missing Link'

Three students from Saltash College organised their own version of the TV show 'The Weakest Link' - called 'The Missing Link' - to raise funds for the Save the Children fund. The contestants were Pat Lloyd (Student Services), Emma Julian (Reception), Bob Hall (FLC), Di Wright (FLC), Dave Hutton (IT), Teresa 'Combat Girl' Lancaster (Travel & Tourism), Lisa Brown (Travel & Tourism), Annette Luscombe (Beauty Therapy) and Jo Blaylock (Marketing). Head of Adult Education, Chris Wiseman, put on the long black coat and trade mark specs to be transformed into the evil Ms Robinson. She was very convincing & full of wit and very scary!

Tension mounted in the final round, with contestants Bob Hall and Pat Lloyd battling to the bitter end. But there could only be one winner - Bob was the stongest link. (Sorry Di!). The game was expertly planned and prepared by Marc Stevens, Nicole Pearson and Sass Alliker. All three of them are second year Travel and Tourism students, part of their course requires them to 'Organise an Event', so they decided to make sure it was fun and worthwhile - and totally humiliating to all the staff that took part.

Eighteen-year-old Marc, from Saltash, said, "We asked various members of staff to take part in the game, and provided them all with sponsorship forms. We managed to raise around £250 for the charity, which is brilliant!" Nicole, who lives in Looe added, " As well as the contestants raising sponsorship, we charged an entry fee of 50p for staff and students to come and watch the show."
