College Goes Green for the Day!

When students arrived at Cornwall College Saltash, they were not confronted by a normal double Decker bus, but one run on chip fat and belonging to the Green Party. The arrival of the bus to the College was in support of the upcoming European Election on Thursday 10th June
The Green Party and its Big Green 'Votes for Europe' Tour Bus has been touring the Southwest from Gloucestershire to Cornwall over the last couple of months used the College as a base while the 2 candidates, Emily Mclvor and Armstrong Emery visited Saltash Town Centre to raise awareness of the Party.
A range of literature and give aways were displayed plus information regarding the Green Party policies in its manifesto. Anyone interested in finding out information about the Green Party were encouraged to board the Tour Bus to explore their views and policies.
Steve Warnes, Head of the College, commented: "When the Green Party approached me and asked to park their Tour Bus on-site, I did not have any qualms about agreeing because I feel that Politics needs to be promoted and with the European Election looming, this was an ideal opportunity. The importance of Politics has been lost in the modern day and by allowing the Green Party to use the College promotes it in a positive light to the students."
