Student Gains Top Prize
Jo Thompson, aged 30 from Redruth has just been awarded a top prize at the Centre for Hair, Beauty & Holistic Therapies at Camborne Pool Redruth College for her out-standing project work on her Hairdressing NVQ 2 course.
Like the rest of her group Jo has attended College full-time to gain the NVQ 2 qualification and is hoping to return in September for the level-3 course, which due to increased demand is also being offered as a full-time study programme for the first time next year. Jo has also gained invaluable experience working part-time in Gossips Salon in St Agnes.
Trevor Knibb from Cornish Hairdressing Supplies sponsored the award with a generous donation and is seen here with Jo and Head of Hair & beauty Bobby Northcott. The Centre enjoys an excellent relationship with the company, who supplies the fully operational salon at the College with a range of supplies and equipment.
Bobby Northcott, said, 'It's an outstanding effort by Jo and the rest of the group who have all worked so hard. Their work is of such a high quality and professional standard, I'm sure all of the group have a very bright future ahead of them in the industry.'
